When you make the decision to fight for the truth, you soon find that there is very little you can do on your own. Certainly, there are individual actions that can make an impact on the world, but such actions tend to peter out because, fuck, it gets LONELY trying to change the world all by yourself. And that's where I figure Unamerican can help - in connecting all of those of us who really want to make change into one big, all-inclusive community that adds up to something that can generate real power - which we can then use to take aim at the institutions of oppression in our society.

Unamerican Activities is much more than simply a stupid little project to sell stickers etcetera. I envision it as a movement... no... an INFECTION, something VIRULENT to contaminate the BODY of MAINSTREAM CULTURE.

Each sticker that gets out there, each hit on this webpage, each kid who is inspired to fly that freak flag (upside-down of course)... each cell that fails to consume and produce in blind obeisance to Those Who Would Rule Us...

NETWORKED HUMANITY MUST RISE!!!

We are ineffectual individually. I should know. I have tried.

For many years I ran unamerican all by myself. Now I've given that up - I was burning out. Who came to my rescue? People. Friends, family, and unamerican's customers and audience members all supported me when I was down. Right now I'm writing this because my best friend Anna has volunteered to answer my email. I believe that the people reading this web page right now can collectively add up to the rocket fuel that could change history. And in a way, as you (individually) read this, you (collectively) are one.

When you experience art that engages ALL of your consciousness, you experience a moment of purity and truth - satori, that's what they call it in the Dharma Bums - and if you are experiencing that in common with another person, it's as if your consciousnesses all melt past their barriers and intermingle as one. That's one of the reasons you pay to see a movie on the Big Screen - the feeling of experiencing the Matrix along with a theater-full of enthralled San Franciscans is one I will never forget. We all merged into one awesome being, taking the red pill along with Neo and learning what he learned. That's my inspiration, and that's why I'm trying so hard to make this page as vivid and engrossing as I possibly can.

You see, when your consciousness melts because of art like this (and I hope this site is melting your consciousness to some degree - in other words, that you're forgetting about the real world and concentrating on being in the one I've created), you must realize that you're not the only one whose consciousness is melted. Others are experiencing this same sensation, too. Think about it from MY perspective - I've got to create a page that appeals to SO MANY DIFFERENT TYPES OF PEOPLE that it was driving me insane until I realized that I ONLY HAVE TO REPRESENT MYSELF. I don't have to "please" anyone; the ones who understand what I'm up to will find me and help me.

And at this juncture, I want you to understand that we - those who have read and understood this page - are FAMILY. We are all given to a common understanding of our place within society and how to find it. We help each other, and we will build a movement that will change history. I guarantee it - if we can get our shit together, even just five thousand of us, we can wreak changes that will turn our world into the playground that we want. We will have Utopia, at long last - by combining technology, community, and our own intelligence and energy, we can craft a world (and a worldview) that will foster true peace among all on our planet.

I believe that right now, the Internet is improving our handle on communicating with one another - in other words, what industrialism robbed us of was our individuality, but that has been restored by our need to express ourselves over the Internet and via the independent explosion across all media (music, film, computer games, books, technology etc.).Those of us who have grown up with the Internet share an intuitive understanding of community that is analogous to what our tribal ancestors knew. And those of us who participate in the creation of items that foster community (such as a record or a website) know that ultimately we are all after the same thing.

I have defined my goal with Unamerican as the creation of an intentional revolutionary community online. To me, that's the most efficient way to overthrow the current order - for the People to rise up and demand an upgrade! I really believe that by coordinating our energies in order to promote a common message, we can BUST through the wall of media silence and bring the news about the evils that the System does unto man into the national discussionspace.

This movement will not be without its foes. If you think about it, each one of us represents a CELL OF CANCER that scares the SHIT out of the jesus/cop/capitalist axis, who dream of a nation of individuals forsaking their liberty to become perfect, synchronized, television-addled sheep. They will try to purge us, but by then it will be too late. They will be shown as the bogus anti-freedom hypocrites that they are if they attempt to shut down this website. And even if they manage it, my business is outsourced and can continue! I am willing to go to jail in order to prove my point about this society - that it is many things, but "truly free" is not one of them.
