to join me? I'm creating Unamerican
with no agenda, no backing, etc. I am doing this because
I want to test out the power of the internet as a bulwark
against tyranny. I will be needing an immense amount of help
in order to carry out this project. that help has one source
- YOU. there are several areas where I could use your help.
Here is a list of some of the main ones - click on the title
of the area of your expertise.
* web
design - I am not a designer. this site needs to look
hecka badass, and while I can help implement technology
within the eventual design, I need people like YOU with
webdesign skills to donate your talents and time to this
project. I feel that I'm doing something extremely patriotic,
and your artistry has probably always longed to contribute
to something revolutionary. So get in touch with me, and
we'll hook you up. My need for designers is limitless;
for instance, ideally we'll create several teams of webdesigners
in several local areas to own the regional subdomains and
spawn subsequent media projects.
* local
coordinators - how the hell can we get the word out
about this site in your area? I don't know your area.
YOU know your area. I need people to set
up Unamerican groups in Everytown, USA. We want to
organize teach-ins, sit-ins, rallies Please let us know
if you are interested in helping us bring this guy's campaign
down in your town.
* event
coordinators - I want this whole thing to culminate
in a protest outside the Republican National Convention
in Philadelphia, at the end of July this year. I want MILLIONS
of people to show up. I can do a lot as far as marketing
goes, but I still will be needing a lot of help designing
and envisioning this event.
* financing
- if you have funds to donate, that would be great - a lot
of my endeavors will require money and time, and I would
like the availability of these funds to be a non-issue -
I will not be halted by such a lame obstacle as cash. In
addition, it would be AWESOME if you all took the task of
spreading the word in your own hands - that way we wouldn't
have to mess around with advertising (unless it's donated).
It'd be rad if you made a flyer, a PDF, or a t-shirt that
spreads the Unamerican message (send us a copy!). Hopefully,
if anyone out there is wealthy, we'll see a "FUCK WORK"
billboard go up somewhere! we're also going to print up
a bunch of "fuck work" stickers (that's what i do, i print
stickers) and sell 100 of 'em to you for $10!!! that way
you can hand them out to your friends and neighbors, and
spread the message about this site.
* content
writers - I need people to write stuff about Bush.
I need both critical journalists and manic street preachers.
I *definitely* want people to write about what it was like
living under the iron gaze of his father, King George The
First, and his predecessor, Emperor Reagan. We need to
examine the underpinnings of why such men have been allowed
to rule our civilization, and whether or not they can be
removed from power. There's media and cultural analysis
that needs to be turned into columns; I need cartoonists
as well. We must teach the kids of America why it is important
to never allow that kind of leadership to ravage our country
again.
* Websurfers
- I need people to suggest sites to us for our directory
and to coordinate our link crusade, and to get into fights
on chatrooms with assholes, etc.
* Artists,
Photographers, Illustrators, Screenprinters, Layout people,
zinesters - I need images and artwork to help make this
shit beautiful, yo. I want to publish all kinds of propaganda
having to do with putting Bush out of the running and getting
the word out about Unamerican - maybe even an underground
newspaper!
* Printing
connections and disseminators - if you have access to
a copier or a printer or anything else manufacturing-wise,
get in touch if you can hook me up or cut me a deal! And
if you're willing to hand out flyers to passerby, wheatpaste
posters or drop piles of propaganda in coffee shops and
bookstores, that's totally awesome too.
* Flash
and Shockwave designers, CGI and Javascript Hackers, and
Network and Database Geeks - to help me with the process
of building the community sections - I want to have surveys,
polls, guestbooks, listservs, local subdomains, screensavers
etc.
* amazing
audio and video people - to create and help us host
coverage of the "fear bush" campaign, including the action
in Philadelphia!
* People
to answer emails! I'm already awash in a tidal wave
of emails because of my other lives. I am one person, not
an army, but what I'm doing is going to result in crazy
contact from people out there. I want each of them to talk
to someone real, and I won't have the time to do this.
So I could use your help - let me know, and i will give
you the password to the secret Hotmail box to which I'm
forwarding this excess mail.
